I met Melissa our freshman year at UW. We were in a FIG (first year interest group) and also both had some interest in potentially rowing. We were fast friends and she was such a bright light of joy, calm, and genuine friendship in that time. One thing I hated about UW was that it was so big, so if you didn’t have classes together, paths didn’t cross as much. But whenever we ran into each other, we’d run and give each other huge hugs. It always made my day to run into her. Our paths took us both all over the world, but I cherish the time we were close.

I feel like you should be just a Snapchat away to let you in on the wild and weird happenings of my life and I just know you’d have the best “read” or commentary on what I’m going through. Happy 28 earth birthdays plus 4 heaven birthdays. It’s hard to believe you would have been 32 today. We all miss you and love you so so much! We will always celebrate the joyous day you were born.
